It’s July 28th and the third sea day on the Zuiderdam Voyage of the Vikings. When we wake, the weather outside is the same. Foggy!
Here’s our position according to my phone.
Sea Day Morning
We go up to the crow’s nest for our morning coffees. There’s nothing to see but the sea is definitely a bit rockier than last night. Breakfast was in the main dining room when it opened at 8 am.

I started with berries.
Then I had the vegetable frittata.
At 10 am, I went to the talk on “Epic Solutions” given by the cruise and travel director.
It was about how innovators found solutions in Norway for different problems. For example lack of sunlight in a valley town (above slide) and another for a long tunnel. At 11 am, it’s as Funnels, flags and funny paint which was about these subjects related to ships.
Sea Day Afternoon
I met Steve for lunch after those two talks and we headed to the main dining room. Click the image to enlarge.
We both started with the salad. Mine was the boccinini and spinach.
Steve’s was the gourmet greens.
My entree was the Chicken Korma which was delicious.
Just the right amount of spice. Steve had spaghetti and meatballs and was thrilled it came with a slice of garlic bread.
Dessert for me was blueberry frozen yogurt and Steve had peach Melba.
At 2 pm I went to a talk on Nanortalik, Greenland which we will visit on Sunday.
It was about the town.
They also covered where Greenland and the Arctic Circle.
Afterwards it was tea time with a banana cupcake.
Sea Day Evening
Before dinner we had drinks in the ocean bar.
It’s becoming routine to have a predinner drink here and listen to the trio play. Here is tonight’s menu.
I started with the beet and red cabbage borscht.
It was very good. My entree tonight was the polish galumpki.
It really was stuffed cabbage. Simile but tasty. Steve had BBQ ribs as did most of the table.
For dessert Steve had the black forest cake (again a popular choice).
I went with the sticky toffee pudding.
Delicious! During dinner a rogue wave washed up to deck 2 windows and tilted the ship. It definitely was rougher all afternoon/evening.
I wasn’t into tonight’s show so spent the rest of the evening reading. The creaking of the cabin finally stopped after 10 pm.
Here is today’s daily program. Click the image for the full PDF.
