Well instead of being at an all-inclusive hotel resort in Curacao today, we’re having a sea day. Better safe than sorry!
Birthday Celebration Morning
I did get an email back from the hotel and they’ve canceled our reservation and will be refunding the payment to my credit card.
But it’s still M’s special birthday so we did celebrate it at sea. We met up for breakfast and went to the windjammer today. No one was really happy with their meal. Examples are the cut up omelettes were not good; no cheese.
The sausage gravy for biscuits and gravy was very runny and the biscuit was too sweet. Of course, fruit, pastries and cereals were good.
I got a bloody mary from the pool bar while on 15 and enjoyed that.
Then we went separate ways. I decided to stay out of the sun today due to being a bit red from Aruba. Good thing since chair hogs were out in full force early. I just spent the day relaxing and resting in my cabin except for lunch at Izumi Sushi with T.
Birthday Afternoon
We were served edamame to begin with and told we could get 1 small plate, 2 large plates and dessert. I switched it up to 2 small plates, 1 large plate and dessert.
I started with firecracker shrimp roll.
So good! T had wonton soup to start.
Then we both had the pork gyoza dumplings.
I followed this with chicken teriyaki.
T’s entree was chicken udon.
Her dessert was a fruit cup while I tried the sesame balls for the first time.
They were different but very good.
M went to Johnny Rockets and enjoyed her burger and sundae.
Birthday Celebration Evening
We met up dinner at Giovanni’s. I had called and told them it was her birthday. Plus the hat she was wearing might have given it away, LOL.
Our server was Kiki and he was fabulous. We were seated at the same table we had for lunch. Must be the only table for 3 in the restaurant.
After bread we service we ordered. I had the meat and cheese plank to start and didn’t care for it at all.
Should have gone with the soup of the day — lobster bisque.
M/T brought a bottle of wine they were gifted last sailing from the casino. We had that opened and M and I partook.
The pasta of the day was spicy spaghetti so none of us got that. I ordered the filet mignon.
It was wonderful and cooked perfectly. M had a half order of the bucatini Bolognese which was spaghetti Bolognese tonight.
T had the osso bucco.
T and I got half orders of the mushroom risotto.
Then the servers brought M a birthday dessert and sang happy birthday.
I ordered the same dessert she got and T got cannoli. It was a very enjoyable meal.
We went up to the pool deck for a while afterwards and chatted. Also got a kind stranger to take this picture of us with the setting sun behind us.
I used my last three diamond drinks on sodas for each of us. Better than wasting them. Then went back to my cabin to watch TV for a bit before lights out.
