Today was supposed to be Mazatlan but instead we are out to sea somewhere trying to avoid Newton. The captain had said it would be pretty windy between midnight and 6 am but we didn’t notice a lot of rocking.
The schedule for today was all indoor activities and they’re even showing movies in the Mad Hatter’s lounge. Clocks moved forward an hour today.
It was a lazy day as we didn’t do much today. After having coffee in the lido and coffee bar, Steve and I had breakfast in the dining room for brunch.
We both had eggs Benedict. I also ordered the cheesy grits. One bite of those grits was enough to know it was not good. The eggs were cooked very nicely and sitting on a nice thick slice of ham.
Most of the day was spent reading and enjoying the balcony. I wasn’t feeling so good in the morning but eventually another Bonine dose helped.
Lunch was at the buffet for me and room service for Steve who had his cruise BLT fix. After a ginger ale and nap, my sea sickness was gone.
Tonight just the two of us were going to dinner in the dining room. We had a pre-dinner drink at Alchemy Bar and while enjoying it the captain came on to announce more itinerary changes. We’d be departing Puerto Vallarta at 5:30 instead of 8:30 pm and going to Cabo San Lucas the following day.
We liked tonight’s menu more than the previous night.
For appetizers, I had pumpkin soup…
and fried shrimp.
Steve ordered shrimp cocktail and mixed greens salad.
For entrees, I ordered the chicken Milanese with a side of macaroni and cheese.
Steve ordered the short rib with a baked potato.
We were both happy with our selections.
I selected the popcorn pot de creme for dessert…
while Steve had the warm chocolate melting cake. (I forgot to get a picture of the dessert menu.)
The maitre’d came by and asked how the food and service were. Both were very good. Our assistant waiter, Nyomon 2, handled everything tonight.
After dinner we went to the showroom for what we had thought would be a production show. It turned out to be the latest James Bond movie, Spectre. It was very good and had lots of action to keep us awake.
We then headed to the cabin and on our way remarked how many people were out and about. We’re used to cruising with people our age or older who are often in bed at this time. 🙂
When we got to the cabin, the new schedule was awaiting us as well as a balcony cleaning notice.
No towel animal tonight because the “kids” were in the cabin when the room stewards came by.
