I woke at 7 am and Steve was already gone. I met him at the Lido deck for that first cup of coffee before heading to the internet café to check email. It was brunch this morning (probably for the last time) so the dining room didn’t open until 8:30.
One of the activities organized my members of our Cruise Critic group was a postcard exchange. We brought post cards with scenes from our home city/state and then delivered them to other participating members throughout the cruise. After breakfast I finished addressing postcards and we delivered them to the 7th and 8th decks. Glad to have it done before the end of the cruise.
We looked at pictures and found two more to buy. I’ll have to come back with my punch card. We read until it time for lunch and headed to the Lido. It was Mexican today and we had shrimp quesadilla, tacos, empanadas and rice. It was pretty good.
At 2 pm we had the farewell cocktail party organized by one of the Kruisin’ Kahunas. It was fun to chat with everyone one last time and we were able to donate a ship on a stick along with a bottle of champagne from the party I hosted.
We headed straight from Frankenstein’s Lab nightclub to tea in the Bacchus dining room. It was nice to have a cup of tea and a fruit tart and scone.
After resting it was time to dress for dinner and enjoying the sunset.
It was just breathtaking!
We were surprised to see that this cruise was having a third elegant night. I’m recycling my dress from the first night.
We exchanged contact information with Lynette and Steve during dinner. We sure have enjoyed getting to know them the past two weeks. I had the corn chowder and egg rolls for starters. Steve had ceasar salad. For the entrée we both selected chateaubriand. It was delicious.
For dessert I picked the amaretto cake with chocolate ice cream. Steve had baked Alaska.
The wait staff danced for (and with) us one last time.
We went to the show, Generations. It was fantastic!
We then retired for the evening with some reading and TV before lights out.
