Our clocks turned back another hour last night so I woke at 5 am even though it felt later. Steve was already gone and I found him on the Lido deck in our “usual” spot.
We decided to have breakfast there as I didn’t want to wait for the dining room to open. We enjoyed reading and had breakfast when it opened.
We then enjoyed our balcony reading until it was time to get ready for the pool. We went to the serenity area and found two loungers. It never really got sunny although the temperature was comfortable. We had lots of clouds and once in a while sun would peek through. After two relaxing hours we went to our room to get ready for lunch in the dining room.
It was the regular menu in the dining room today and we were seated with a couple from Victorville. All of us enjoyed the Jamaican red bean soup to start off. I had the spinach ravioli while the rest of the table enjoyed fish and chips.
After a long delay between courses, Steve enjoyed the lemon mousse and I had German chocolate cake. We agreed the entire meal was fantastic.
Despite a restful night’s sleep we both were ready for a rest. There went the rest of the afternoon!
We headed to The Taste Bar before dinner and tried Nonna’s meatballs and bruschetta. The meatballs were fantastic but the bruschetta really wasn’t.
We are amazed at how many people wait in line for the dining room to open for the 5:30 pm seating. The line went from the dining room into the casino! We just sat and watched until it was nearly gone before joining the end – all in five minutes or so.
Tonight our tablemates were there ahead of us! I ordered a dinner salad to start and Steve had seafood cocktail and the duck breast. I don’t eat much red meat and didn’t want to make it three nights in a row so ordered the always available fried chicken. Steve had the Filet Mignon Carnival. The chicken was okay but not as flavorful as I would like.
I ordered the Caribbean chocolate cake for dessert while Steve had the apples in phyllo. His dessert was excellent while the only part I liked about mine was the caramel ice cream. The cake looked tasty but it seemed to be made with gelatin resulting in a texture that didn’t appeal to me.
Tonight’s entertainment was a hypnotist so we just went back to our cabin and watched TV for a while before turning in.
