I woke at 7 a.m. this morning and Steve was gone. Found him at the Lido and joined him for morning coffee. We checked email before getting ready for Brunch in the dining room. I had the tropical fruit plate followed by an omelette made with egg beaters, spinach, bacon and cheese. We also had tomato juice.
Steve had Eggs benedict with hash browns. We decided to spend a couple of hours at the pool as it was mostly sunny outside. We found chairs in the shade and went to the hot tub for a while. Afterwards, we moved to chairs partially in the sun for some warmth since it wasn’t that warm today (low 70’s). At noon we went to the room to get ready for lunch in the dining room.
We took our free drink coupons and I ordered a mojito while Steve had a margarita. For lunch I had the tomato soup, chicken and brownie. Steve ordered steak and eggs and the brownie. We both really liked our meals but the dessert was just okay. I had ordered mine with butterscotch ice cream and it was very good!
We noticed the ship was decorated for Halloween and are looking forward to the festivities tomorrow evening. We were planning on a one hour nap as Steve wanted to make it to Tea time.
However, the ships rocking lulled us so much it ended up being a three hour nap.
We just had some time to get ready for dinner after enjoying the beautiful sunset.
We saw the sunrise going to Hawaii and sunset heading home.
Tonight is formal night so Steve broke out his tie and jacket and I wore one of my dressiest dresses.
I ordered the seafood soup and frog legs for starters and the rib-eye steak for my entree.
Steve also had the seafood soup and shared the frog legs with me. He liked them better than I did. The soup was delicious and the steak was flavorful and cooked perfect. Steve had the roasted duck for his entree and enjoyed it but it was a very large serving.
Steve ordered the pistachio dessert which was very good according to him and our tablemates. He also ordered the Sour banana cake which was very dry. I had the kid’s banana split and enjoyed it. We had brought a bottle of wine to dinner and our tablemates helped us drink it.
The waiters (and a lot of passengers) entertained us with YMCA song.
We went to the family comedy show at 7:30 and enjoyed a third comedian, Rondell Sheridan. Afterwards it was straight to the main showroom for the second production show of the cruise, Swingin’ with the Band. It was a good show, just not my favorite style of music.
We then spent an hour in the piano bar before going back to our cabin. We watched some TV and Steve checked out the late buffet which was just hot dogs, hamburgers and sweets.
Tomorrow is Halloween or as Steve says, our third night of costumes!
