Welcome to the Inaugural edition of the Carnival of Healthy Living. The Carnival of Healthy Living is a collection of recent blog posts on fitness, nutrition and health.
I hope you enjoy reading this week’s submissions as much as I did and learn a little something about inaugurations as well!
Diet & Nutrition
The shortest inaugural presidential address was by George Washington in 1793 (his second) with just 135 words. We may think modern presidents have become long-winded but they don’t come close to the 1 hour and 45 minute speech by William Harrison (who also had the shortest presidency).

Fitness

Fitness for Professionals demonstrates seven different variations of push-ups. That’s an exercise I struggle with so found it very interesting.
Health
Every inauguration has had a parade but they’ve not always been inclusive. African American men first participated in Abraham Lincoln’s second in 1865 and women didn’t get to join until 1917.
