The Grand Turk port of call today is early and brief (by my standards). Port time is 7 am until 2 pm and we left the ship about 8 after breakfast and headed straight to Jack’s Shack.
About a year earlier I went here with our other sister and brother and had a great time. I was sure to bring a toy for the owners’ dogs. Topher wasn’t there when we arrived but when Janet (his mom) got there with him I gave it to her.
We took advantage of the wifi to check our emails while enjoying a beverage. Loungers are free and we paid $10 for the umbrella. Some of the tables by the bar/restaurant have covers so if you’re comfortable sitting at a table, no need to rent the umbrella.
The water was perfect and we were in and out of the water the entire time. We did take a break to go up and have some lunch. I had jerk chicken with fries and my sister ordered chicken curry which the chef made special for her.

All too soon it was time to head back to the ship. Not only were we leaving at 2 pm but I had the Martini class starting at that time and needed to get showered beforehand.
The martini classes were very popular during this sailing. I had to wait several days for an opening.
The cost is $15 per person and well worth it. Not only did we have the three martinis made during the class, you also receive a card good for a drink later and a wine charm. Plus it’s a ton of fun.
We learned the history of martinis, what bar tools are used and how to use a lighter to enhance the flavor of the drink.
We all “graduated” and received diplomas afterwards.
I waddled back to the room to rest before dinner!
For appetizers, I selected one of the regular menu offers and one from the Ports of Call menu. First up was the Seafood Chowder.
Then I was served chicken patties. This was the more enjoyable offering to me but then I love pastry!
For my main entree I selected the chicken marsala.
Although I was expecting boneless chicken this was delicious. On to the dessert course.
I don’t know if I had dessert tonight because there are no pictures and nothing on the menu is something I would have selected.
We had two notices today. The first was about a time change.
And the second was priority tendering instructions since we had Faster to the Fun.
We also had my favorite towel animal of the cruise waiting for us in our cabin this evening.
