Today is this sailing’s last sea day and last full day onboard.
Last Sea Day Morning
My day started off with coffee at Java Cafe and when I went to sit down at Ocean Plaza I found creatures.
It was towel animal invasion!
The crew did an amazing job. I went up to the Lido deck for breakfast at Blue Iguana and found the creatures all around the main pool too (sorry did a terrible job of getting photographic proof).
I did find a breakfast burrito though.
This was followed by fruit and a cinnamon roll.
All while enjoying the morning sea view.
I decided to venture up to the Serenity area which is adults only and spans both sides of the front of the ship on deck 15. It was very empty and full of comfortable seating.
There is a hot tub on each side of the serenity area.
Sure wish I came up here earlier. 🙂 I enjoyed relaxing here with my Kindle until it was time for lunch.
Last Sea Day Afternoon
Today was the first time I went to Sea Day brunch for lunch. One of my dinner tablemates said she really enjoyed the fried chicken so I ordered that.
It looks wonderful but I found the chicken seasoning lacking and probably won’t order again. I had it with a side of brunch potatoes.
They look a mess but tasted great. For dessert I ordered an old favorite… banana cream pie.
After lunch it was time to face the music and start packing. Platinum and Diamond do have special debarkation instructions and tags.
My reward was tea time in the main dining room.
This was the only time the servers tried to seat me at a shared table which I declined. They gave me a lovely table for two. I paid extra for a mint teabag. There weren’t any sandwiches offered but plenty of sweets.
Last Sea Day Evening
The Diamond and Platinum guest reception was at 5 pm in the main lounge.
I headed up a few minutes early to a longer line than expected. It moved quickly once doors opened. Augusta Ray was performing for us.
There were plenty of drinks and you could order specific drinks if needed. I went with Sex on the Beach.
There was the usual slideshow of Carnival ships and people cheered for the ones they’ve sailed. Then the ships officers were introduced.
I think the diamond members with the most points were recognized. Next was the youngest platinum member who was 9 years ago. Then came me. Yes I was recognized for booking 9 days before sailing. Crazy!
After giving me this plaque (the 9 year old got candy also), we had a picture taken.
The drinks kept flowing throughout and we were invited to stay and enjoy the music and beverages. I left to drop my plaque off before dinner. All six of us were here tonight.
I started with the fried shrimp.
They were pretty good. My entree was the pork chop.
It was delicious! Very moist and tasty. Do you think they could make the serving of mac and cheese any smaller? I don’t think I ordered dessert and have no photos.
After saying good-byes it was off to the comedy show. I went to several shows and my favorite comedian this week was Caroline Picard.
The funny thing is at Mr. Sanchos I overheard a table of gen z passengers complaining her comedy wasn’t relevant. For me, it was very relevant!
Too soon it was time to go back and put my bag out for collection. This towel art made it a little easier.
