Later this week I will celebrate 11 years since my first blog post. Having this outlet to explore my interests, thoughts and experiences has been rewarding, fun and educational. I hope others find what I share valuable while enjoyable. Thank you!
Unfortunately the celebration is minor while the coronavirus rages havoc in our country as well as other parts of the world. Despite our slow reopening, cases in California are spiking and now the deaths are increasing. We have to keep vigilant and are staying at home for the most part.
My Week in Review
It was a pretty quiet work in terms of getting out and about. Other than our walks (six days a week), I left the house three times although my husband did go out several more times.
We did get to watch our grandson graduate from Space Camp (Huntsville, Alabama) via Youtube live on Thursday night. He’s growing up so fast!
Medical
My knee pain is persisting despite time and the prescribed treatment so my doctor ordered an x-ray. To limit people in the waiting area and allow time for cleaning between patients these are now scheduled. They’re still screening people at the door and I noticed a pop-up tent for checking in urgent care patients outside.
The diagnosis is tricompartmental osteoarthritis with bone spurs. I apparently have the arthritis in both knees but they only noted bone spurs in the left which is the painful one. My doctor ordered physical therapy and NSAID for pain. I’ll try that and hope it resolves the pain. Otherwise the next step is a steroid shot.
Shopping
My second outing was to pick up meals from Dream Dinners. I didn’t order in June because they had a lot of entrees with sugary sauces. This month had enough options that would work for both of us.
Usually when we pickup, we’re the only ones there. This time there were already two people in front of me and it took 10-15 minutes for them to get their orders and then for us to get ours. Two more were waiting after me!
Sadly, the August menu has the same issue with the sauces so we’ll skip it.
Pet Care
Charger had to get some vaccinations so we took him in yesterday. It was a quick vet tech visit thankfully as it’s quite hot here this weekend and there was no shade to park in and wait.
This Coming Week
We will be going to the library tomorrow to pick up some more books; we were very happy to have been able to drop off books this past week. Yay! Otherwise it’s another week in paradise working to stay safe!

Happy blogiversary! This heat definitely makes it tougher not to be able to go anywhere – would be nice to go to a movie or for an indoor walk at the mall, but we just stay home.
