Today is our last full day on the Disney Dream and we are going to be visiting Castaway Cay which is Disney’s private island.
Castaway Cay Morning
I was up early as usual and had coffee and breakfast at Cabanas (the buffet). Today I went with a made to order omelette.
My meal was rounded out with fruit and muesli (which I only have on cruise ships for some reason).
Here’s the room service menu for breakfast which we never ordered.
After breakfast we got ready to go ashore. The beach looked fantastic from the ship.

I used the Disney chat feature to find out where the gangway was located which was a very positive experience.
Castaway Cay Day
We walked off easily and there was the opportunity to buy a cooler of waters (which C did) and get towels. There are trams back and forth to the various drop offs but decided to walk. Along the walkway there were a couple of photo opps with Disney characters in beach attire including Goofy and Chip and Dale.
Signage is abundant to help you find where you’re going.

After finding three chairs in a good location at the beach closer to the snorkeling area, C and A took advantage of their excursions. The first was a sports package which included snorkel gear and a floating mat. I took advantage of the mat a couple of times while they snorkeled.
I know C did the aqua trike but I don’t remember if A did. At lunch time we headed to one of the Cookie’s BBQ areas. It was typical cruise line private island fare including soft serve ice cream which was my dessert.
It was a perfect beach day and all too soon we headed back. I was not much of a photographer today but instead enjoyed time with my family.
For the way back to the ship we took a tram after perusing the gift shops and buying a tshirt that really was too big for me but I wanted a souvenir!
We found this letter in our cabin upon our return. It’s an interesting way to do the auto-gratuities.
As we left Castaway Cay, it started raining. It almost felt like Disney magic that the rain waited until we were all aboard and leaving.
Castaway Cay Evening
Tonight our assigned dining room was the Royal Palace. This was the fanciest menu of the three.
After ordering three Disney princesses visited the restaurant. Unfortunately because of covid protocols at the time they couldn’t stop to visit any passengers or be approached (hence the handlers you see following in each photo). First was Cinderella.
Then we saw Belle.
She was followed by Snow White.
What was most fun was seeing the excitement on the kids’ faces. There were many girls dressed up as their favorite princess. I just wish there were more of the princesses and definitely some of the princes to join the parade.
On to the meal. I started with the Iced lobster and jumbo shrimp appetizer.
This was followed with french onion soup.
Next was the main course of Chateaubriand. So good!
Although I was getting full at this point I persevered to finish off with the souffle.
As usual as we entered the main atrium there were characters available to take photos in front of them. Tonight’s show was Beauty and the Beast which C and I attended while A went to the kids club.
Back in our cabin we found this turtle waiting for us.
It’s hard to believe it’s all over tomorrow.
