It’s our second and last sea day on this Empress of the Seas cruise. I woke up at 6 am which was really 7 am as we turned the clocks back to Eastern time zone today.
Day at Sea
After getting up and ready, got my large almond milk mocha and went up to the pool deck where I found my sisters. For breakfast I tried to go the dining room but forgot this ship does brunch on sea days and it didn’t open until 9 am. So breakfast was at the Windjammer and was good.
Then it was pool time with my great niece. We had our pick of loungers at 9 am and found a couple that were in the shade.
Later my nephew and his son came down and we all swam, read and enjoyed the sun. We left before lunch. She had cupcake decorating at 12:15 and I just had had enough sun!
This letter was delivered to the stateroom.
No one had any idea ships wouldn’t be sailing for months (and possibly the remainder of 2020).
I ate at the Windjammer for lunch by myself and enjoyed it. The mushroom chicken was good; especially over mashed potatoes.
I was disappointed to not see the ranger cookies today. Boo hoo!
Napping and packing took the rest of the afternoon. Before leaving the stateroom I found my room steward and gave him a tip envelope. I had had great service this cruise.
Evening at Sea
Before dinner I visited the schooner bar for one last grapefruit habanero daiquiri and then met everyone at the main dining room.
It was lobster night (never had that before on the final night of the cruise). Our cheese and fruit plates were brought to us and we had savory bites on the table. My other starter was the onion tart.
Then I ordered the beef tenderloin with a lobster tail.
It was also good and cooked perfectly.
For dessert most of us went with the lava cake.
I had tip envelopes for ur dining team; they were fantastic having our special items ready for us. The assistant waiter did magic tricks for the kids several nights.
Leaving the dining room, we stepped outside for a beautiful sunset. The picture is not enhanced.
I went to the singalong at the Schooner Bar after dinner and then made it to the main theater for the production show titled Three. It was the first evening they’d performed it. Much better than the first production show.
After the crew farewell I headed to Boleros for karaoke and came in just as my great nephew was finishing up his son (he went first). After that ended, I needed to get to my room and get my suit case out (suggested time was 10 pm and it was now 10:30 pm).
