Two Friday’s in a row! Grab your coffee (or favorite beverage) and let’s talk about what’s gone on this week.
eMeals Free Trial
Meal planning is essential for me to stay on track with my food plan. I am an eMeals blogger and love their product. Whether you prefer a paleo, low-carb, vegetarian or any one of the other 13 food plans getting a menu with shopping list every week will be a great help.
If you’re not sure it’s a good fit, you can try it for FREE for two weeks. There’s no obligation so why not see if it’s a fit for your family. Click HERE (affiliate link) and get started.
Restaurant Week
Today’s the last day of the extended San Diego Restaurant Week. I would love to make it to more restaurants but it’s not necessarily friendly to my waist and wallet even at greatly reduced prices.
A restaurant I visited this week for a business lunch was participating and I took full advantage of the deal. For $20 I had a market greens salad, lobster mac and cheese and a potted brownie with banana ice cream to finish off the meal. (Since it was a business lunch I didn’t take any pictures.)
It was fantastic as were all the other options from the comments I heard from others at the table. I’ll make sure to get back there again for the Spring restaurant week event.
Check Yourself Campaign
Paula Abdul teamed up with the Avon Foundation for Women on a new campaign regarding breast cancer #CheckYourself. It kicked off with this catchy video and may I say Paula looks fantastic.
The goal of the campaign is to eliminate confusion related to screening strategies and encourages people to take control of their own breast health with three simple steps: Know Your Risks. Know Your Body. Talk To Your Doctor.

Color Run
I love Kind bars and was thrilled when they asked to be a #Kindawesome ambassador at The Color Run in San Diego next weekend. Look for my photos on instagram and twitter. If you live in the area, there’s still time to sign up and get colorful with me.
Pet Update
It’s not a good thing when your budgeting software tells you you’ve spent too much at the veterinarian this year. The latest pet who had unexpected medical bills was Annabelle.
She had a high fever of unknown origin with abnormal urinalysis results. Antibiotics knocked that out but we needed to take her back for a follow-up urine test which was this week. She has crystals and protein in her urine.
The vet wants us to try to get her to get more water so we’re attacking it two ways. She’s getting soft food only and I’ve bought a pet water fountain. Hopefully that will work. If not, she’ll have to go on a special diet.
That’s a little bit of what’s going on in my world. What’s new with you?
