As usual I’m finding it hard to believe we’re already in the fifth month of 2015. The year is going fast! Grab your beverage of choice and let’s catch up.
Nashville
I’ve been to Nashville before last week but never stayed downtown. One of the conference events was an evening at Acme Feed & Seed. It was a feed store in Old Nashville but is now a hopping bar/restaurant complete with rooftop deck.
It’s right across from the Hard Rock Cafe where they were filming a commercial with Craig Wayne Boyd, the last Voice winner, in the street. One of my co-workers went with me to join in as part of the crowd for a while.
It’s a great city to visit and I hope to go back for a long weekend with my husband sometime.
Internet
We are continuing to have internet problems and have a technician scheduled to come out today. The troubleshooting process over the phone has been frustrating to say the least.
We didn’t have a problem at all until they had the outage. We were told then our symptoms were the same as reported by other customers. They say the outage is cleared up yet we continue to have the same issue.
I about lost it when told it must be my router, or my ethernet cord, etc. Hopefully it will be cleared up today or I’ll be shopping for a new provider.
Mini Freezer
Recently Nutrisystem changed their plans pricing so I was able to upgrade from the Select plan (where I selected 18 shelf stable and 10 frozen for each meal every month) to Uniquely Yours which removes the limit on frozen items for just $10 more.
I like many of the shelf stable breakfasts, lunches and desserts but the dinners not so much. To be able to store a month’s worth of frozen dinners I needed some more freezer space. The solution was to get a mini freezer which will easily fit in our one car garage even with the car.
Unfortunately, the first one I ordered from Walmart came damaged so we had to return it. My second order via Amazon arrives today. I have my fingers crossed that it will go well.
Medicare
This summer my husband is eligible for Medicare. Removing him from my work policy will save us hundreds of dollars in medical insurance premiums every month so it’s a no brainer we need to switch.
The hard part is selecting which plan to go with as there are MANY, MANY options. We went to a “Medicare Made Easy” class last night and it was very helpful. At the end we understood the different parts and what they covered, deadlines and consequences for not selecting certain parts.
Mother’s Day
Last but not least is that this Sunday is Mother’s Day. I’m fortunate this year to have one of my sons in the area and that will definitely make the day more enjoyable.
This is the fourth Mother’s Day since I lost my mom and I’ll be thinking of her and happy memories. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.
That’s it for this week. Have a great weekend!
