It seems like Friday was just here but at the same time a lot has happened since last week. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday week. Ours was really nice; I think we must always have at least one of our kids visiting us or vice versa from now on.
Here’s what has been on my mind this week.
Hip Flexor Pain
I tweaked my left hip flexor while on the stair mill at the gym last week and it’s been bothering me ever since. It especially hurts when I go up or down stairs which I have to do at home and my office. Until now I’ve been hoping it would go away but think it’s time to do some more aggressive treatment than hot baths and wishful thinking.
I’ll start taking ibuprofen around the clock for three days in addition to stretching. Keep your fingers crossed!
At The Movies
One of our holiday traditions is going to the movies on Christmas Eve. I started it when my boys were little and I was trying to keep them preoccupied while waiting for Santa to come and we still do it even though the “boys” are now men and no longer at home.
We saw The Hunger Games: Catching Fire this year. Not long after it started my husband leaned over and whispered it was not a happy movie. No, it is not but it kept us on the edge of our seats for a couple of hours. I thought it was very true to the book of the same name. Can’t wait to see the final book… I mean movie!
Delta Glitch
You read about those incredible airfare deals people find and think it will never happen to you. Yes, it can happen to you! My husband talked about joining me when I go to Savannah this summer for the Fitbloggin’ 14 since his son lives nearby.
I was searching for airfare to get an idea of the prices and up pops $48 round-trip on Delta. I booked it quickly and then posted online. At least one other blogger took advantage of it before Delta noticed and took down their site while they fixed the problem. Unfortunately I didn’t realize it was a such a wide-spread glitch and didn’t think of booking any other trips.
Holiday Eating
I decided to try to maintain during the holidays instead of lose. That’s worked well and I haven’t gained any weight since I returned home from my Thanksgiving trip. But as you’ll learn next week I have gained before then. I will weigh-in Saturday morning and share next week.
However, I don’t regret the decision to lighten up on tracking the past few weeks. I got to enjoy seasonal treats without guilt including my mother’s recipe for cheese balls. Yum!
Goals
It’s the time of year when people make resolutions or goals. Next week we’ll take a look at the goals set for the year and the results as well as set them for 2014. I’m looking forward to the coming year and feel it will be even better than 2013.
How was your week?

Was Catching Fire good though? Wasn’t able to watch it unfortunately.

I’m so glad you managed to snag that Delta deal! It’s always so expensive to go anywhere from here (San Diego) that it seems fair that, for once, you’ll be traveling on their dime, not yours. And I think Mick will be with me for FitBloggin, too, so perhaps he can do some “guy stuff” with your hubby while we’re hard at work during the day.
See you at WW!

Hi Denise,
Steve would probably enjoy that; he likes walking around new cities. We’ll have to get together sometime before then for dinner. You wouldn’t think it would be so hard but life takes a lot of time!

Hey Roomie,
Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you and your family. I was thrilled to get the airfare special and know I’ll be seeing so many of our pals in six months.
