Parenthood
If you are still waiting to watch the Parenthood finale I have two things to say. I understand not wanting it to be over, but you must watch it NOW. Also, stop reading because there will be spoilers coming up.
One of the reasons I loved this show was because it showed a family with four adult children and their stories. I grew up in a family of four children and I could us in the Bravermans. Yes, they would fight and yell but in the end they were family above it all and the love they had for each other won out. My husband has a hard time understanding it when my family does the same but I felt like we are normal because of Parenthood.
The series finale last week was perfect! Hank and Sarah had a beautiful wedding and it appears to be the last family gathering with the patriarch. Yes, Zeek passed away but it was handled with class. If only all our parents could pass so gently.
The last couple of minutes showed the remaining family a few years later. We saw them with new marriages, children and adventures. I’ll miss the Bravermans.
Live Theater
I love the live theater but only went to a couple of shows last year and that was thanks to invitations from my friend. We decided to do something about it this year and kicked it off by going to see a drama last weekend, The Lion in Winter. It was at a small theater nearby so we had third row seats at the bargain price of $11 per ticket.
Not only were the performances fantastic but I learned a bit about English history. Yesterday I snapped up an offer for half price tickets for another production this weekend. We’re going to see Les Miserables.
We prefer matinees and make a date out of it by going to lunch first at a nearby restaurant.
Super Bowl XLIX
The Super Bowl game was pretty good this year. You didn’t know who was going to win until the last minute. I’m sure most of us thought it would be the Seahawks once they got the 10 point lead but you never know.
The game was great but the commercials didn’t seem as fun this year. In fact, they were downright dark. I don’t want moral lessons or scare tactics on a festive occasion. (I’m talking to you Nationwide.)
My favorite commercial was the “lost dog” one by Budweiser. It was definitely an “ahh” moment.
That’s it for this week. What do you have planned this weekend?
Coco (@Got2Run4Me) says
That Nationwide commercial should go down as the worst Superbowl commercial ever! I couldn’t help but worry about people who had lost a child and were watching the game and then saw that ad. It was a great game though!
