Today Harmony of the Seas calls on Nassau, Bahamas. My sisters planned to stay onboard. My plan was to do a food tour if nice weather since it goes rain or shine. Unfortunately, it is a very rainy day so I’m staying onboard too.
Nassau Morning
I was surprised to find it was after 6 am when I woke. Dressed and went down to Café promenade where my sisters had a table enjoying their morning coffees. Joined them and had mine.
We went separate ways for breakfast. I ate at Johnny Rockets while they went to the solarium bistro.
It was good but it’s annoying that the menu says three pancakes and they only give two.
I went to the diamond lounge to see what’s in there and try to get help from the concierge. She was very busy but nice. Unfortunately my question is one for the loyalty ambassador so I’ll have to catch him sometime. They had a crew drill right after I left the lounge so he wasn’t available then.
Now about the lounge. What a terrible downgrade from what’s on the Allure. First problem is no windows. The food and drink area is so small. I didn’t see any water or juice options although I did have a bran muffin and piece of cheese while there.
I spent a lot of time reading today. When I went to the Schooner looking for a quiet place to read and have a drink, I found the bar closed but inadvertently ended up in trivia. It was cartoon music trivia but I did give one answer to the people sharing their table with me.
Found Sister M on 15 mid morning and she had met one of my future Latitude Margaritaville neighbors. They’re building in phase 7 but renting there now. I have their card to keep in touch. Very nice couple!
Nassau Afternoon
For lunch I decided on the Windjammer as it was raining and I didn’t want to go into Central Park. Found my sisters there and joined their table.
Fortunately even though there were still a lot of people on the ship it wasn’t too crowded and the food was very good. I wish I found the pasta bar in the back before eating.
After lunch a nap took most of the afternoon. Then it was time to get ready for “formal” night. I left the cabin about 4:20 and had time to have a cocktail.
Trivia was still in the schooner bar so walked down to Boleros and enjoyed a mojito.
Nassau Evening
My sisters were already at our table when I arrived for dinner. We quickly had menus, water and bread.
I decided to start with the pumpkin soup.
It was hot and very delicious. This was followed by a garden salad. For entrée I selected one I hadn’t previously seen on the menu, coq au vin.
It was a very generous serving of chicken and I really enjoyed it but thought the bacon was a little weird.
Sister T. enjoyed her beef tenderloin and Sister M wasn’t a fan of the chicken tenders (too thick). M skipped dessert while sister T and I had some favorites. Crème brulee for her and grand Marnier souffle for me.
I found Sister M in the casino and she showed me how to use my free play money. I spent it and another $20 but had fun.
After I lost all of it, I went back to Boleros for another mojito before the 8 pm showing of Grease. I found them in the theater about 20 minutes before the show.
The show was fantastic although the person playing Sandy wasn’t as good a singer as most of the other parts.

The seats were quite hard but all three of us endured them because the show was so good. We parted ways afterwards. I had a couple of slices of late night pizza (bbq chicken and pepperoni).
Then picked up two sodas at the pub before heading to the room. Sister M came in shortly after. I finished the book I was reading before lights out before 11:30.
HURRICANE UPDATE: Ian turned south today so it will hit Ft. Myers area instead of Tampa. I haven’t seen the model yet to see how it avoids Ormond Beach. Hope Steve doesn’t have any problems although this message from our Airbnb host is concerning.
