How things change! When I got off the Allure of the Seas in early July, I didn’t have any cruises planned until Spring 2023. Then sister M was laid off and decided to take advantage between jobs of a casino offer on Royal Caribbean.
She picked the September 25th sailing of the Harmony of the Seas from Port Canaveral and invited me to share her cabin. Sister T is joining us using her own casino offer in her own cabin.
We booked just 12 days in advance which meant early check in times were taken and we got 1:30 pm. They bought their airfare and got pretty good prices flying home a day later.
I planned to pick up car and drive directly to the port on Sunday but they asked me to meet them in Orlando the day before the cruise and spend the night with them.
I booked the Country Inn & Suites Airport location which includes complimentary breakfast and I assumed shuttle. More about that later.
ITINERARY
What I love about the itinerary is stops at both Royal Caribbean private beaches/islands. First port is Cococay which we all love for the pool and food.
The next day is Nassau which no one is excited about but I may do a food tour while the other two stay on board. Our third stop is Falmouth, Jamaica which again is not a favorite. We’re just going to hang out at the port’s Margaritaville enjoying the pool, drinks and food.
Last but not least is Labadee where we’ll enjoy the same beach we did last time.
SHIP
Harmony is an Oasis class ship but none of have sailed on it previously. We’re looking forward to the new shows and a new specialty restaurant for all of us — Wonderland.
Sister M and I are in a interior central park cabin which has a window overlooking Central Park. I’m looking forward to experiencing this cabin. We didn’t even bother putting in a bid for Royal Up because of this.
UNKNOWN
There is a question if tropical storm Ian (soon to be hurricane Ian) would change our itinerary. With such a short timeframe before sailing, before we knew it vacation time was here!
