The seas were rough last night (as the Captain had warned) and I slept well with all the rocking and rolling and didn’t get up until 6 am on our final day on the ship and at sea.
Final Sea Day Morning
I waited in my cabin for the bonine to settle in before venturing out for coffee at the promenade café. Sherwin gets me coffee every day and remembers what each person has if they’re regulars.
I’m going to try to stay on lower decks and eat in the main dining room when it opens at 8 am. Definitely less motion down here than in my 12th deck cabin. 🙂
We were able to get reservations for the Saturday Night Fever afternoon performance (it was full yesterday) so I’m glad that worked out. Never did see the ice show this trip.
It was my brother and me for breakfast and we were seated at a window table.
I tried the eggs benedict this time and the eggs were poached perfectly. My v8 was really tomato juice though.
Afterwards I turned in our pool towels.
I did get a letter a couple of hours later but confirmed later that night there were no charges.
The pools were too cold for me and apparently others as they were empty most of the day.
I decided to tackle a book I’d brought. I ended up reading in Boleros which had comfortable chairs until lunchtime (noon for me) in Windjammers.
Final Sea Day Afternoon
My brother joined me again and we enjoyed the Halloween décor that just got up.
They also had the farewell cake. Boo!
There was a seafood bar today with lobster tails, scallops, shrimp and more but I wasn’t in the mood for that.
I ended up with the wonderful kummelwreck sandwich and some butter chicken.
Dessert was coconut cream puff and my favorite cookie.
I continued to read until time to go to Saturday Night Fever at 3 pm. Sister M and I enjoyed it very much. Photos and videos are not allowed so we honored that request. I was surprised (and impressed) to see Royal provided interpreter for hearing impaired passengers although we were a little too close to their bright lights for the interpreter to see the script.
The seas had calmed down in the afternoon ad people were finally able to enjoy the pools and sun.
Final Sea Day Evening
After the show I got ready for dinner and headed to Boleros for a pre-dinner cocktail and chose the Hemingway daiquiri which was very good.
Then I met the group for our final dinner onboard.
At dinner our server brought out cheese plates again.
We all started with the tomato soup which I enjoyed. Two of us put some cream in it which improved it for them.
The crème fraiche mentioned in the description was missing. My second starter was the Asian pork tacos which had too much bread and not enough filing but what was there was good.
I went with the steak Diane tonight which came with a roasted half potato and asparagus.
Then I finished it off with my new favorite dessert apple blossom a la mode. It was a delicious final dinner. We said good bye and gave extra tips to our server after enjoying our meal.
Back in my cabin I tracked down Amar to give him an extra tip before buckling down and packing finally. After showering and putting on my pajamas my bags were ready to go out. Lights out at 9 pm.
