Today is the last full day of our Norwegian Epic cruise and a late port stop (1 pm) at Palma De Mallorca.
We sleep in a bit and my brother and I had breakfast at Taste.
The menu had specials that we hadn’t seen before and I ordered the Biscuit Benedict.
This ship does a great job with Eggs Benedict.
I wandered the ship a bit and took pictures and my brother did exchange his leftover Euros for US dollars when the onboard credit desk opened at 9 am. Later in the day that line was long!
Around the Ship
One of the areas I visited was the other side of O’Sheehans where it is a sports bar with games to keep people entertained.
This is the headliners club where I saw a couple of shows but no comedians on this sailing.
I even admired the public restrooms. They just seemed more organized than some other ships I’ve been on.
Escape from the Big Tent
Shortly after 10, we went to the Big Tent for the 10:15 Escape room activity.
The four of us were seated with another couple who were from Canada. They were nice but communication was tough as they were French Canadians who were not fluent in English.
The activity was very fun and interactive and took until the last couple of minutes for someone to get the solution. I won’t give any details away.
Lunch
We planned to meet up at O’Sheehans for lunch at 12:30 but when we got there, there weren’t any tables and the hostess said it might be 30 minutes or more until we could be seated. A lot of people were trying to get in lunch before going ashore.
You know where we went… Yes, Taste!
It was the same lunch menu so we ordered favorites and some new items. These included crab salad with potato skin.
Nachos.
Cheeseburger.
Open faced tuna salad sandwich.
For dessert I tried the orange chocolate mousse and really enjoyed it.
While dining we had docked and they announced the gangway was open.
Palma or Not
Palma apparently has a beach 2 km from the port, but we were all worn out from 4 straight intense port days and decided to make another sea day of it.
Sister T and I went up to the pool for a while and enjoyed sun, pina coladas and the water. It was great enjoying this area with very few people around. I took some pictures of what we could see from the pool deck.
After a refreshing nap the afternoon was gone. I picked up my wine and olive oil and started packing. Then it was time to get ready for the last evening onboard.
Dinner
Sister T decided to dine at the buffet so the rest of us met at Taste for dinner.
Appetizers included soup, salad and this crab and cheese souffle.
Entrees were prime rib and spaghetti Bolognese.
The prime rib looked even better than the first night and was a good inch plus thick.
We all stayed for dessert and the only picture I got was of the bananas flambe.
After dinner and more packing I went for a final martini at Shakers. It was my favorite citrus gem. Sister M and I went to the Epic Theatre to see the show “Burn the Floor”.
We sat in the front center and wow, was it a great perspective. It was very entertaining and not your normal dance/song show on cruise ships. Go early so you don’t miss the pre-show entertainment.
That was the end of the night for me because bags had to be out before 11 pm. We ended up making it with 5 minutes to spare!
Lights out because tomorrow is going to be a long travel day.
