Today is the one and only sea day during this Norwegian Epic sailing.
Sea Day Morning
I surprised myself by sleeping in until after 7! After getting ready I visited the espresso machine in the studio lounge for my caffeine fix.
A cinnamon roll from the pastry display was enjoyed as well.
Then it was off to start my errands and have breakfast. I left a note under my DIL’s cabin door with my cabin number and onboard mobile number so they know how to contact me. Next I went by guest services because I didn’t get the 10% shore excursions discount for the ones I bought onboard. They told me I’d have to get that fixed with Shore Excursions department. Makes sense. He did start the process for me to get a refund of the prepaid transfer to airport now that I’m doing an excursion instead.
Shore Excursions wasn’t open yet so off to breakfast first. Here’s today menu’s.
I had a nice view for my meal.
My starter was the fruit salad.
Then I had the daily special of egg and avocado wrap.
I highly recommend this entree. Yummy! My mimosa helped me wash it all down.
Shore excursions was open when I got out of breakfast so I took care of the 10% discount issue. I heard from C about 10:30 and met them at the cabin. My grandson wasn’t hungry yet so I joined DIL O’Sheehans while she ate.
I did have anEnglish muffin and another mimosa.
I gave her a tour of the studio area and my cabin before we went our separate ways for the rest of the morning.
We agreed to connect for dinner at Taste this evening.
Sea Day Afternoon
I went to Taste again for lunch around 1 pm and once again was seated at a window.
My starter was the cream of mushroom soup.
I chose the chicken Milanese for entree.
It was very good!
Today’s dessert choice was a winner — the milk chocolate cheesecake.
Then it was time to rest. Later in the afternoon (around 4 pm) I went to the outdoor cafe for a cup of tea and some fresh air. The lines for towels and the bar weren’t too bad and got even better within 30 minutes.
Sea Day Evening
I met C and A at their cabin and we headed to Taste when it opened a few minutes later.
The bread was a popular hit with my grandson (okay and me).
C and I ordered glasses of wine within our plans. I had the temperanillo.
I found it funny the glasses have a line on them telling the server when to stop pouring although you can’t see it in this photo. My first starter was the spring rolls.
It was so good. I gave one to C as her starter of lobster ravioli wasn’t! The clam chowder wasn’t really a chowder although it tasted good.
No potato hunks or clams in it that I found. We both ordered the roast beef with polenta and spinach.
Very good! A had mac and cheese which he enjoyed. For dessert I had the mint chocolate mousse, A had ice cream with caramel sauce and C had Boston cream pie.
We all enjoyed our selections. We met up again at 9 pm when A went to Entourage teen club and the adults went to the Epic theater for Burn the Floor show. There was a long standby line but everyone in it got into the theater as there were empty seats at the start.
The show was very good and the dancers extremely talented.
After that off to my cabin where I packed my beach bag for tomorrow and read a little before lights out at 11 pm. Here is today’s Freestyle Daily.
