Norwegian Epic: St. Kitts

KayLynn · May 12, 2024 · Leave a Comment

Today the Norwegian Epic is visiting St. Kitts.  It’s also the last day of the cruise.

St. Kitts Morning

We have a private excursion that leaves at 10:30 so no rush this morning.  C had booked the tour via Get Your Guide.  The name is “St Kitts: Nevis Island Tour and Beach Time with Lunch”.

I had coffee in the studio lounge again followed by breakfast in Taste restaurant.

Pastries in studio lounge

Today I went with the muesli to start.

This was followed by the loaded hash browns.

Of course with a mimosa. :). Then it was off to my cabin to get organized. I met C and A when they went to the garden cafe for breakfast. We left the ship at about 10:15.

Nevis Tour

The tour meeting place is at the marina right outside the cruise terminal.

We walked there and checked in a few minutes early.

The catamaran loaded up right at 10:30 and we were off to Nevis. Our captain introduced himself as Captain Crackers.  It’s a windy day so the seas are rough. I had to move after getting wet in my original seat.

Some people got soaked.  A seemed to enjoy it.

After our 30-minute ride to the island, we were split up into two groups. We loaded into a mini-bus and met our guide/driver Ahmad. He was a fun, interesting gentleman.

After a bathroom break right away, we were off to the island’s oldest functioning church, St. John’s Figtree Anglican Church.

It had incredible views and graves from the mid-1600s.

There were plaques from the 1600s on the wall inside.

Graves were in the floor of the church.

It was a nice little church.

Then we were off to Alexander Hamilton’s birthplace.

The stone building he was born in is there as well as the “newer” wood home he grew up in.

Our guide conversing with Alexander Hamilton.

C and I also took a photo.

We had time to look around.  Interesting to learn that the Jamestown settlers stopped in Nevis on their way to Virginia.

Then we drove through old Charlestown which is the oldest city in the Caribbean. Amazing how many original walls still remain and are in use.  But the streets are so narrow it was impossible to get good photos.

Our next stop was at a hot springs.

I wish I could have spent 15 minutes immersed here to get rid of my sore muscles from that waterfall hike.

Then it was back to the beach while driving through a typical neighborhood of homes.

Nevis Beach

At the beach we were seated at tables and given a menu with three lunch options.

A and I went with the fish and C had the chicken.

It was pretty good for an included lunch and included two drinks (I had ginger ale). The water was a good temperature but strong waves to pull you out or push you in.

A and I enjoyed some time in the water. Him longer than me.

Our cat came back about 2:45 to take us back and we took the scenic route. St. Kitts and Nevis are beautiful places.

St. Kitts Evening

Once back onboard I showered and started packing before going to dinner with A and C in Taste.

I had the gnocchi and sausage to start along with Malbec wine.

My entree was the always available steak with mashed potatoes instead of fries.

The dessert menu was okay.

I got the chocolate mousse but didn’t like the lemon in the middle.

Afterwards, I joined them in the Garden Cafe for A’s dessert and then said goodbye. They are leaving 2 hours after me tomorrow so we won’t see each other.

Then back in the cabin I finished packing up and put my bag out for collection.  It’s been a fast, fun, cruise!
