It’s our last full day on the Norwegian Escape and we’ll be at sea.
Sea Day Morning
I was up at 6:15 and found Steve in our usual spot in the garden cafe about half an hour later. We had coffee and I wrote notes before having breakfast.
Breakfast was at O’Sheehan’s. I started with chocolate croissants (I ordered one and got three!).
My entree was corned beef hash and eggs over medium.
NCL has the best corned beef hash of all the cruise lines I’ve sailed. Steve had french toast.
His second entree was a ham and cheese omelette.
We knew the pool deck was going to be a zoo today. Nearly All the loungers were saved by 8 am. We decided to go to the waterfront again and found this inviting couch set.
It was very relaxing watching the sea and reading from this location. I even saw a rainbow!
At one point I went to the guest services desk to get yellow luggage tags (for higher tiers of latitudes) and the onboard credit refund. I got $49.
Also got a Bloody Mary. They sure make them good on this ship!
Sea Day Afternoon
Eventually we got up and went to find lunch. Neither of us wanted to sit in a restaurant so it was the buffet where we had a mish mash.
Then it was back to the cabin where we packed the majority of our things and figured out what we needed for the final morning/night. That earned us a little nap. 🙂
Afterwards it was tea time.
First time I saw Tazo brand in the tea chest. (Yes I appreciate the choice in tea bags — hear that Carnival!).
We showered and then decided to go to the Mixx bar for a cocktail before our final dinner in the dining room.
It was first time we were given bar snacks (which I love and dutifully ate!). I went with gin and tonics tonight.
Sea Day Evening
After getting our second round, we headed to the dining room and was immediately seated.
It took a while to get our appetizers . My first starter was the bruschetta.
It was pretty good. Then I had the Stilton cheese soup.
It was just okay. Steve had scallops and the grilled chicken salad. He was disappointed the salad only had two pieces of chicken on it.
Then we waited and waited first for our plates to even be cleared and then for the main entrees.
Finally 65 minutes after we sat down the entrees came. I had the carved roast beef and it was very good.
I ordered medium rare and it was not very pink. We’d had a problem with overcooked meat all weeks of figured to under-order. Steve went with the rainbow trout and he liked it but felt it was overcooked.
After finishing our entrees we were waiting quite a while for the server to clear our plates and give us the dessert menu. So we finally left. A manager asked us how our meal as we went by and we told him — the food was good but the service wait was much too long. He offered to get us dessert right away but we declined.
We went up to the garden cafe and got dessert. I had the pina colada cake which was very good.
Steve had peach cobbler and ice cream. We got drinks for the cabin at the bar and went back to the cabin for the rest of the night to read and watch TV. Once there we packed the final items in our bags before Steve put them outside the door.
