It’s our second sea day and I have no other plans but to relax.
Sea Day Morning
I was up around the usual time and had coffee at the promenade cafe. On the way I passed an employee with a mobile irrigation cart watering the plants on the promenade. I appreciate how Royal pays attention to all the details.
Had a cinnamon roll with my coffee to satisfy me until Johnny Rockets opened at 8 am for breakfast.
My pancakes and bacon were hot and tasted great at Johnny Rockets.
Halfway through my meal every table was taken and people were waiting. The service was great.
I got a bit too much sun yesterday so decided to stay away from it today. On the way back to my cabin I admired Central Park.
On top of all the other plants this wall of living ones is impressive.
Once in my cabin I sat out on the balcony reading and people watching until lunch time. Before leaving my room I reviewed my onboard account and noticed that I was charged for my soda even though I told the server I have the soda package.
On my way to lunch I stopped at guest services and got that taken off. The line was quite long and many people were buying airport transfers.
Sea Day Afternoon
I decided to go to Sorrento’s for my first pizza this cruise.
It was thin the way I like it and very good. I liked the antipasti options they have (grilled vegetables, cheeses, etc.) but didn’t get any.
Then went to finish lunch at Windjammer where I tried BBQ ribs, fried chicken and potato wedges (and filled my soda cup).
Maybe a couple of ranger cookies went to my cabin with me after eating. The rest of the afternoon was spent napping, reading and watching movies until it was time to get ready for dinner. Very relaxing day!
Sea Day Evening
It’s the sailing’s second “formal” night and I haven’t been enjoying shipboard lobster lately so went with something else.
The big news was that my assigned tablemate came to dinner. Her name is Jes and she has been enjoying the ultimate dining package. If I had that, I would never be in the dining room. 🙂
First I had the onion tart. Very good!
This was followed by a tossed salad with dressing on the side.
My entree was again beef tenderloin.
It wasn’t as good as the first time. I choose apple blossom for dessert (pictured in previous posts). It was a pretty good meal and I enjoyed having company to chat with during it.
I decided to try to make the 7 pm headliner, Earl Turner. I couldn’t reserve in the app because I missed my reservation the night before but based on the last time I went to a headliner show knew there would be room.
Sure enough I was able to get in and got the same great seat I had for Cats.
His show was very entertaining but most of the songs were from the 1950s and there are fewer and fewer people that know those songs. Move forward to the 1960s at least Earl!
What was impressive was the ship having a 9 piece band back him up with live music. They were very good.
After that I went to the cabin where I noticed I had the wrong luggage tags for the transfer.
My room steward called guest services and they told him I was in the second group for Miami airport so tag 45 leaving around 9 am.
I also fund this guy hanging around in my room.
