It’s the final full day onboard and there’s the usual air of sadness the trip is ending. I’m going to spend this sea day enjoying the pool and sun, packing and some more relaxing.
Sea Day Morning
I was up at my usual time (6 am) I went for coffee at promenade cafe. It was not as busy as yesterday at this time. I went to Cafe Park for breakfast after it opened. Breakfast was another egg, ham and cheese sandwich and cup of fruit.
It’s so nice sitting in Central Park. Very relaxing! I even found my first duck walking back to the elevators.
I left it there and passed a little girl and her mom looking for them and said they’re on the right track.
Today was going to be a pool day. I headed up to the solarium and it was a little chilly when I got there bout 8:30 but that quickly changed.
There were plenty of loungers open the entire three hours I was there. Oh and I found a coke freestyle machine up there in the bistro. After 3 hours of sun, hot tub and pool I was ready for lunch.
Sea Day Afternoon
I got dressed and started with pizza at Sorrentos. I really like the thin crust. Part 2 of lunch was the roast beef sandwich. Don’t know when I’ll have my next Royal cruise so this will have to do.
Unfortunately, they ran out of Ruffles right before me so I paired it with cream of vegetable soup that tasted like broccoli.
Dessert was a Mexican coconut macaroon and a macadamia nut cookie.
The cookie will join my two coconut cookies on the trip to San Diego.
The afternoon was filled with napping and packing. I also addressed Christmas card envelopes I’d brought. Got tip envelopes prepared with a little extra for my room steward and dining wait staff. They were all fantastic and it is Christmas time.
Sea Day Evening
My tablemate didn’t show tonight but hopefully she went to 150 central park after I told her how good it was.
I started with tomato soup which was good.
The Caesar salad was nice and fresh.
My entree was chicken cordon bleu with substitution of mashed potatoes for French fries.
My brother had enjoyed it in October so I wanted to try it. It was very good. I don’t know why they put that cheese sauce on the plate.
Chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream and decaf coffee topped it off.
One thing I noted is that 3 of the 4 nights I dined in the main dining room, the manager came and checked on my service, food and experience on the ship. I appreciated him doing that. They announced that Oasis has had the highest dining service team ratings since the restart. I believe it. I gave my team my thanks and envelopes and headed to the bionic bar.
It’s very easy to order. Swipe your card and pick from the menu of existing drinks or create your own
I went with an existing one (whose name I forgot) and off the robot went making it.
You have to swipe the card on the lane it is served to have it brought down to you. I didn’t really care for the drink but enjoyed the experience. It wasn’t busy but I bet it’s more fun with a queue of drinks and both robots busy.
My entertainment plans for tonight were comedians in the main theater at 8 pm. Don Grey and Nery Saenz. I thought Nery was funnier. It was a quick 45 minute show and entertaining.
I went back to my cabin and put out my suitcase. Then watched an episode of NCIS before lights out.
