Once November comes, we start planning for the holidays. One thing you might forget to do is take care of yourself during the busy season. The topic last week at Weight Watchers was about setting the course for a successful holiday season however you define “success”.
I already decided my goal is to maintain this last quarter of the year. You might remember I gained 10 pounds the last three months of 2013 which made for a lot of rework. Staying the same weight while enjoying a limited amount of holiday foods is my plan.
Food Plan
We started the week off with a dinner out at a new to us restaurant, Seasons 52. The unique thing about this chain is that nothing on the menu is more than 475 calories. It was liberating to know you could pick any entree and not blow your food day!
My husband and I shared a green salad which I followed with a filet mignon with broccolini and mashed potatoes.
There was a choice of 8 or so desserts served in these cute little glasses. mine was the chocolate peanut butter treat on the left. Delicious but it hard picking just one.
Monday through Friday I had Fresh and Fit meals for lunch and dinner. You might remember the picture I shared Friday of the Turkey Meatballs with spaghetti squash. This was my second favorite meal, Shrimp Kale Salad.
Weigh-In
I was down .2 pounds this week. That’s a bit less than 1 stick of margarine. Sometimes when these small losses get me down I take a look back at the past year.
A year ago the same week I weighed 11.6 more pounds. I definitely wasn’t as strong as I am now. This sounds like success to me!
The total loss in my journey so far is:
-47.4 Pounds
Challenges Ahead
It was a busy weekend, so I haven’t made a meal plan but did get a pot of my vegetable soup made. I feel confident that it will be easier than the past few weeks to stay on track now that the Halloween candy is gone from my house and office!
How did your week towards great health go?
