I know this should be a Five Things Friday post but I’ve been so busy this week taking care of household duties before and after work while my husband is away on a trip that I don’t have time to think about other things. I do want to remind you to enter the giveaway for a 2-DVD workouts set from SparkPeople before it ends tomorrow night.
Extreme Weight Loss
Do you watch Extreme Weight Loss with Chris and Heidi Powell? I started watching this show last year and was happy to see new episodes airing.
For the first time ever a participant quit the program. It was sad to see that person give up this wonderful opportunity for help but if someone’s not ready nothing can make them do it. I would love to train with Chris and/or Heidi!
At The Movies
I have seen three movies this past week and in case you’re thinking about what to watch this weekend wanted to share my thoughts.
Fed Up: If you’re like Denise from Do You Have That in My Size? and I this movie will make you mad. It’s a documentary about the processed food industry and sugar. Our nation’s lack of determination to change it is appalling. Learn more at fedupmovie.com and you can even sign up for a sugar free challenge.
Maleficent: I saw this at a media screening this week and really enjoyed it. Angelina did a great job in this alternate telling of the Sleeping Beauty story. It’s not for young children but I think pre-teens and older viewers will enjoy it.
August Osage County: I rented this movie from iTunes. This drama about a dysfunctional family was a downer but the acting was terrific. Of course, it had to be with Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, and more heavy hitters in the cast.
Charger Medical Issue
A couple of months ago Charger had surgery for an infected cyst. He’s now having issues with his skin from nose to legs. He’s on antibiotics and steroids and giving him his pills each day has been a chore because he doesn’t want to swallow them.
After battling with him for two days I bought a package of pill pocket treats and it seems to be working. We have another week of the cone and pills before heading back to the vet.
What’s new with you?
Denise @ Do you have that in my size??? says
I hope Charger is feeling better soon, and those pill pockets can be a real life saver with a finicky eater. (Alouysius is such a food snarfer that he’ll munch down anything I hand him and come back for more!)
