Last week I mentioned looking forward to a business trip this past week after a month without travel. I headed to the airport as scheduled and was waiting at the gate when I decided to check emails and learned the trip was cancelled.
I was able to cancel my flight for a full credit (thank you Southwest!) but had to pay for the hotel room I wouldn’t be using and of course parking. I was glad to find out before arriving in Florida!

It was book club week and the core five members of my Thursday night club were there for a nice dinner, discussion and evening. (You can keep up with my 2018 reading list here.)

I even splurged calories on this fruit cobbler with ice cream! Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of my pork belly sandwich but it was tasty.

I read a lot of travel, personal finance and retirement blogs. I hope my favorite reads of the week will be a nice mix but many times it will be mostly in one of these categories. This time it’s mostly about the money.

Looking Ahead
This coming week I’ll be meeting up with my co-workers at a happy hour. It’s been six or seven weeks since I’ve seen some of them after we split up between remote working and temporary office so I scheduled a place/time and invited about 60 people. I’m also getting out for lunch on Monday with another former co-worker.
I’m learning how to make working from home work for me!
