For the first time in years, I had my taxes done in February. Since the 15th falls on Sunday, they would normally be due tomorrow but it’s a Washington DC holiday so it’s delayed until Tuesday. I’m not sure about state taxes but I will have my payment withdrawn from checking tomorrow or Tuesday.
Highlights
The big news this week was my stepdaughter’s health improvement. She improved so much that cardiac surgery that couldn’t be done until she got better is scheduled for Monday. We are so thankful and pray for a successful procedure with quick recovery.
Another highlight was a visit from her brother and his wife. I didn’t take pictures as we were so engrossed in visiting but we had a lovely visit. They miss having good Mexican food in South Carolina so we went out for a delicious dinner with a pitcher of margaritas.
The only picture I took all week was Thursday’s lunch with a co-worker. We had a meeting and decided to go to the office versus dialing into the call.
We walked to a nearby food court and decided to eat at a roasted chicken place. This bowl was pretty tasty once I added the sauce.

I must not as been as inspired this week as my list of favorite blog posts is small but mighty.
Skinny Ms. has a recipe for Baked Chicken Quesadilla casserole that’s a keeper. I must have had Mexican food on the brain because I also saved this recipe for Freezer Breakfast Burritos from Simply Recipes.

Looking Ahead
This week we’re focused on my stepdaughter’s surgery and recovery. All in all, we’re ready for an uneventful week!
